Founded by U.S. Patent Attorney Robert L. Risberg in 1997, PriorArtSearch.com is a patent search firm that offers a broad range of Patent Search Services geared toward law firms, corporations, investment firms, and private inventors.

We provide a full range of Patent Prior Art Search capabilities.  Our primary focus is on providing Patent Invalidity Search services to clients involved in high-stakes patent litigation. We also provide infringement, freedom to operate, state of the art, landscape, and patentability searches at a reasonable cost.

In addition to patent search services, we provide opinions of counsel on patent validity, patent due diligence analyses, patent competitive intelligence surveys, pre-litigation investigations, offensive and defensive patent portfolio analyses, and patent litigation support.

Mr. Risberg has been a member of the State Bar of California (Attorney No. 153802) since 1991 and has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1992 (Registered U.S. Patent Attorney No. 35,335).

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin.  He received his J.D. in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor on the Wisconsin Law Review.

Mr. Risberg was an associate for the law firms of Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP (1990-94) and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP (1994-97).  He was also Of Counsel to the law firm of Isbester & Thackray LLP (2002-08).
